Scene Writing
Soon after moving from Philadelphia to Los Angeles in June of 2019, Max began writing scenes for Actor Demo Reels.
This process grew organically from the requests of friends who were working actors in need of fresh, original scenes to build more compelling reels.
The primary purpose of having a Demo Reel of Scene Clips is to demonstrate that you can ACT on camera! That’s all! Don’t overthink it!
It is important to understand this because often actors use complicated or overly complex scenes to showcase their skills and the viewer gets lost in the story which pulls the focus away from you. The last thing you want is for the viewer to be distracted or confused.
If the scene premise has already ‘been done’ countless times before—GOOD! Ideally, you want to perform within a common theme or genre that is familiar to the viewer but with fresh, original dialogue. You want to demonstrate to the casting director or agent that you can take an everyday scene and make it believable—your way—with passion and originality.
